Dear Brownstone Families,

 

This year we are celebrating The Brownstone School’s 60th Anniversary!  

 

In 1963, The Brownstone School opened its doors for the first time in the basement of a local church.  With the purpose of providing a play-based education within a warm and caring community, The Brownstone School flourished.  Within ten years, Brownstone had outgrown its basement location and moved to the beautiful landmark building we now own. Sixty years later, our school continues to thrive by staying true to its founding principles of education through play.    

 

Today, Brownstone’s values, community, and educational philosophy remain the same, but the program has continued to evolve.  First, The Brownstone School has transitioned over the years from a daycare center to a school.  With robust professional development learning opportunities, our teachers continue to excel at their jobs but now have far more resources available to them.  The building itself has undergone numerous transformations, as it has been continually updated and modernized.  Over the past summer, the interior of the building received a complete face-lift.  These and the many other advancements would not have been possible without the generosity of our community.  

  

Our 60th Anniversary marks a special year for our Annual Fund campaign.  We are so grateful for the incredible support of our alumni and current families, as well as the Board of Trustees.  We ask for your support again this 60th Anniversary year so we can reach our goal of $100,000. Your gift will help to ensure that we are able to maintain the amazing program we have built, while continuing to provide a joyful learning experience for the next 60 years. 
 

Currently, funds raised are being used for operations and programming which are not covered by tuition alone.  Your participation will help to assure that our children, and generations to come, will continue to receive an exceptional early childhood educational experience at The Brownstone School.  We hope that your family will participate in the Brownstone School’s Annual Giving campaign this anniversary year.
