What are the birthday cut offs for the 2024-2025 school year?​

  • Twos: 9/1/2021 – 6/30/2022

  • Threes: 9/1/2020 – 8/31/2021

  • Pre-Kindergarten: 9/1/2019 – 8/31/2020

 

What does communication look like at The Brownstone School?

There are many different forms of communication that happen

between the School and you. You will be able to communicate with

teachers at drop off and pick up, newsletters and emails, and at regular

parent/teacher conferences. Our teachers strive to keep lines of

communication open and are available for meetings and check-ins

throughout the year as needed.

Will my child have lunch at school at Brownstone?

All full day programs, including our 4s/5s classes and Extended Day programs, will eat lunch at Brownstone. All students enjoy a mid-morning snack including fruits, vegetables and other nutritious foods.

Are any of the specials that the children in engage in during the week?

All students at The Brownstone School enjoy yoga through Lil' Yogis, music with Nina, and TADA!, a theatre program, throughout the week.  

​

Does your faculty and staff have advanced degrees?

Over 80% of our faculty and staff have advanced degrees in Early Childhood Education.  Our teachers engage in professional development throughout the year to further their knowledge of education and work with young children.

Do you offer Financial Assistance?

Financial Assistance is offered for all programs at Brownstone.  Currently, 10% of our students are receiving financial assistance. Please visit our Financial Assistance page to learn more.

When will I have my admissions decision?

The Brownstone School is a member of ISAAGNY, the Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York.  In accordance with ISAAGNY's best practices, our notification dates correspond with the dates provided by ISAAGNY.

Do you have a sibling and legacy policy for admissions?

The Brownstone School has a strong sibling and legacy policy.  We offer early notification for those families applying who have attended Brownstone previously.
